Fourth time at this delightful setting. Anna and Chris run a gorgeous, secluded group of holiday cottages, secretly located and slightly off the beaten track. Although we’d rather not tell anyone about its location for fear of it becoming too popular, Anna and Chris deserve to be oversubscribed for the amount of effort and attention given to this hidden gem! Talk about secret escapes! These cottages lack nothing. They are a welcome break from life’s everyday cares; a place to relax and recharge, within easy reach of coast and countryside. As a base for exploring, perfectly situated. As a hideaway to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet, superb. Nothing is too much trouble to our hosts. We truly value their attention to detail and their welcoming nature. Thanks guys – looking forward to number 5!

Thank you Chris and Anna, we had a lovely weeks stay at The Granary, so clean, well presented and equipped with everything you could think of and more. Everything about the cottage was quality, both inside and out. We enjoyed the local attractions of Hartland, Clovelly, North Burrows and Bude. We also enjoyed a day mid week just relaxing in the cottage when the weather wasn’t on our side…popping on the log burner😁. We visited the Farmers Arms twice, once to eat in and once to enjoy fish n chips from their takeaway on the way back from Bude. Just the re-set we needed! Many thanks again.

Visit No 4. Our annual go to destination for rest and relaxation. Anna & Chris are as delightful as ever. The Cottage – perfect for us. The location – brilliant! This visit we managed to get to The Lost Gardens of Heligan (well worth the drive) and sample the culinary delights of The Rectory Farm Tearooms and Bush Inn at Morwenstow. Looking forward to next time.

This was our fourth stay as we love the place so much. We stayed at the Barn again where there are three good sized rooms and bathrooms so can easily suit six people with ease. The decor is lovely and high-end and the property and grounds are well cared for by the owners, Chris and Anna. We were joined by our daughter and her partner for the weekend and they stayed in the Cottage which is just across the courtyard from the Barn. Again, the decor there is spot on. It was quiet and secluded which suited us and our dogs and we saw much birdlife around the grounds. We also had the added benefit of two secure fields for the dogs adjoining the property and outside patios and jacuzzis for both cottages. The weather was perfect and we had a great time as it’s only a few miles to several beaches (Westward Ho! and Instow) and dog-friendly pubs (The Bell Inn – Parkham for Sunday lunch, our new favourite, the Boathouse at Instow and also The Royal George at Appledore). All three pubs were excellent and had great staff, so well worth the visit. We also discovered Melbury Plantation a few miles away from the cottages which looks like a scene from Game of Thrones. Well worth a few hours walking around the forest grounds. Even if you don’t want to drive there is plenty to do at the property, including walks, BBQ, nature watching and star gazing at night. Here’s to the next trip.

A truly wonderful self-catering escape in a beautifully secluded rural setting. From the moment we arrived Anna and Chris made us feel incredibly welcome. They were warm, friendly, on hand if we needed anything, while still giving complete privacy. The cottage itself is exceptionally well equipped and finished to a high standard with everything you could need for a comfortable, relaxing stay. One of the highlights was unwinding in the hot tub under the stars (no light pollution) with a glass of champagne in hand!! On cooler evenings, the log fire made the cottage feel cosy and inviting. Great Eckworthy is the perfect place to relax, recharge, and enjoy a peaceful countryside retreat. Highly recommended. Thank you so much for your help and hospitality Anna and Chris.

We had the most wonderful stay here – from the moment we arrived, Anna and Chris made us feel so welcome. They are genuinely lovely hosts who go above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect. The property itself is absolutely beautiful, finished to such a high standard and spotlessly clean. It had everything we needed and more, making it easy to relax and feel completely at home. The location was ideal, peaceful and perfect for a relaxing break, yet still close to everything you might need. We truly couldn’t fault a thing. It was one of the nicest places we’ve stayed, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return. After a three night stay with our dog, there isn’t a thing I would change about the Cottage . It was very comfortable, had everything we could have possibly needed and was immaculately clean. The calm and relaxing decor, comfy sofa and bed, and peaceful location were perfect for a relaxing break whatever the weather. We were lucky with lots of sunshine and really appreciated the fantastic information and recommendations in the house folder. It helped us make the most of our stay, planning our days out, meals and shopping without any stress or spending ages online searching. I think it is the best file we have ever seen and the recommendations were all brilliant. The same can be said when it came to the box of instructions for using the household equipment etc. Finally the hosts were lovely. Very welcoming, friendly and informative. There if you need them but not intrusive. Thank you Anna and Chris.

We stayed in the Granary for 4 nights and were absolutely delighted. It is so well designed with quality, comfort, and cosiness in mind. Everything inside was beautiful, modern, tasteful and immaculately clean. The bed was plush and comfortable, we loved the log burner, and the jacuzzi an added bonus after long days out walking. The setting is also very peaceful in the middle of the countryside. The cottage felt private but the lovely owners are nearby if you need anything. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again

We have loved staying here. The Cottage has everything, so well equipped and lots of thoughtful touches. The tiffin was delicious and I have really enjoyed proper eggs!!

We had such a wonderful stay at the Cottage. Everything about it was beautiful and finished to an exceptionally high standard. You can really see the care and attention in every detail, from the kitchen equipment to the luxurious bedding. Even the dressing gowns for the hot tub were incredibly soft and such a lovely touch. The decor was gorgeous and the whole place felt thoughtfully put together, with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. It felt so homely and welcoming, we honestly could have moved in. The welcome treats were a lovely surprise, and Anna and Chris made the experience even more special. They were so friendly, welcoming and genuinely thoughtful hosts. They have created something really special, and I would happily recommend any of their properties. The surrounding scenery is stunning, and the location is perfect if you want somewhere peaceful and quiet while still being close to places to visit and plenty of great restaurants nearby. We would highly recommend staying here and would love to come back again. Thank you, Anna and Chris, for such a fantastic stay. You should be very proud of what you have created.

In need of a little rest and relaxation, we couldn’t have chosen better. The comfort and quality of ‘The Cottage’ at the Great Eckworthy collection was to an incredibly high standard and had an immediate, calming effect on us. We had everything we needed and cooked in most nights, making the most of the glow of the log burner and the delicious warmth of the hot tub . The place is so lovely that we had to make a conscious effort to go out and explore. ‘GE’ is perfectly placed to give you peace and privacy whilst being close enough to some very beautiful coastal and country visits. All of this loveliness made all the more enjoyable by our fabulous, friendly hosts , Anna and Chris. A&C, your awards and accolades are truly deserved in all that you do to offer such a wonderful experience. Everything ‘just right’. Diolch yn fawr. Hope to be back soon.

A beautiful three-night stay for two adults and our dog at The Barn. Anna and Chris couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming, but we also had our privacy which was much appreciated. The Barn is stunningly decorated, everything thought of, and incredibly comfortable with plenty of towels and blankets, both for us and our furry friend. The bed was super comfortable, to the extent that we asked for the recommendation of the brand! The kitchen had everything we could need and was perfect for our self-catering needs. We had a very chilled time, took full advantage of the included Netflix and the log burner. Our dog enjoyed a couple of lovely walks around the fully secured 4 acre field, a little trip to Bideford and another to Westward Ho to enjoy a windy walk on the beach. Lastly we enjoyed a delicious brunch at The Bell at Parkham as recommended in the thorough guide notes provided by our hosts. Already recommended to family, and we would love to come back another time!

Amazing place, we stayed in The Cottage. It was stunning, very high standard. High quality throughout from the kitchen equipment to the bedding. Softest gowns for hot tub I’ve ever had! Decor is beautiful, they have thought of everything. I could have lived here happily! Lovely welcome bits too .. and special welcome from Anna and Chris super friendly couple, fun and caring. Honestly worth a visit to any of their 3 properties, I can’t imagine anyone not loving the place ! Stunning scenery too, quiet, peaceful and great location for visiting areas. Plenty of restaurants around too. Highly recommend we will be back Thanks Anna and Chris you are doing a fantastic job !!

We had the most incredible stay at Great Eckworthy. We needed a quiet place with great internet combined with maximum comfort & relaxation and that is exactly what we found here. We loved the fireplace and all high end amenities & bedding, and of course the hot tub! As a bonus, the owners are lovely and helpful & recommended some local restaurants that exceeded our expectations. We for sure will return. We were even blessed with a rainbow on the morning we checked out.

Had a lovely 4 night break in early September. The Granary is a lovely cottage for 2 adults. Ideal for a quiet relaxing break. Everything we could have wanted or needed was there and the accommodation was great. Our hosts were lovely, they could not have been any more helpful, so thanks to both Chris and Anna for such a warm welcome to your holiday home. Highly recommended for a quiet and relaxing time coupled with the ability for some stargazing from the private outdoor patio and hot tub …..

Fantastic accommodation and hosts (Chris and Anna) with a very comfortable bed, well equipped and super peaceful. Could not fault. Don’t want to praise too highly as we might never be able to book again. Not far from some wonderful attractions, Clovelly, Appledore, Hartland Quay and The Tarka Trail. The shop in Woolfardisworthy is the best I have ever been in.

Lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings. We have enjoyed exploring this stunning part of the coutry. The weather has been remarkably kind.
