Hartland Abbey
A stunning privately owned house and estate, Hartland Abbey has a rich history. Built in the 12th Century, Hartland Abbey was a monastery and was later gifted by Henry VIII to the Keeper of his Wine Cellar in 1539. Hartland Abbey is one of the most historically important ancestral homes in North Devon and contains a wealth of national interest, including architecture and decoration from the Medieval, Queen Anne, Georgian, Regency and Victorian periods.https://www.hartlandabbey.com
Hartland Quay
Located on the Atlantic coast of Devon, this ruggedly beautiful coastline experiences some of the roughest seas in winter. A former harbour, it now offers a jaw-dropping walking spot. The views and scenery are so spectacular, it has even been used as a filming location for a number of films and television shows! The former Coastguard cottages have been turned into toilets, and you’ll also find a nearby shop and museum where you can explore the history of the quay. https://www.hartlandpeninsula.co.uk/beaches-beauty-spots/hartland-quay/
South Molton
Thought to have originated in Saxon times, the market town of South Molton has its own Pannier market and lots of characterful, independent shops as well as stunning architecture. We love to visit on market days which are Thursdays and Saturdays! The market has just won ‘Best Community Market in Britain’ and boasts plenty of stalls where you can pick up some local delights.https://www.visitdevon.co.uk/northdevon/explore/villages-towns/south-molton/
Arlington Court
Often described as the unexpected jewel of Exmoor, Arlington Court is a Regency house with an impressive collection of horse-drawn vehicles, set in an idyllic garden.
