Our Local area

 

We welcome dogs and other animals by arrangement in The Barn and The Cottage. The Granary is pet free. North Devon is a fantastic spot to explore with your dog.

 

Providing there is no livestock in our adjoining fields, The Cottage has use of a 2.5 acre field and The Barn has a 5 acre field to exercise your dogs.

 

The Tarka Trail – just 6 miles away Perfect for easy walks alongside the expansive saltmarsh, mudflats and sandbanks of the Taw/Torridge Estuary, bursting with wildlife and wonderful views.

If your dog loves the beach, there are lots close by to let them run wild on. Some of our favourites are: Northam Burrows, Westward Ho! Instow and Sandymouth.

And of course, being in the North Devon countryside means that simply walking from Great Eckworthy is peaceful and very scenic on extremely quiet roads.

The Barn can accommodate up to three larger dogs (Retriever size) or up to four smaller dogs (Cockapoo size).

We provide dog throws, bowls, dog towels, outside tap & bags. We do not provide bedding or crates.

All the local pubs are dog friendly

Our dog charges are £40 per dog, per stay.

We do ask that you adhere to a few rules when bringing your pets to Great Eckworthy to ensure we can offer the same fantastic experience to all of our guests. These can be found on the INFO page under pets. Please do ask if you have any questions before your visit.
