Simply lovely. This was our third stay as we love the place so much. We stayed at the Barn again where there are three good sized rooms and bathrooms so can easily suit six people with ease. The decor is lovely and high-end and the property and grounds are well cared for by the owners, Chris and Anna.
It was quiet and secluded which suited us and our dog and we saw much wildlife, including deer and pheasants in the grounds. We also had the added benefit of a secure field for the dog adjoining the property and an outside patio and jacuzzi for us.
The weather was perfect and we had a great time as it’s only a few miles to several beaches (Westward Ho! and Instow) and dog-friendly pubs (The Bell Inn – Parkham for Sunday lunch, the Instow Arms and our new favourite, the Boathouse at Instow and also The Royal George at Appledore). We also discovered Melbury Plantation a few miles away which is a national forest and looks like a scene from Game of Thrones. Well worth a few hours walking around.
Even if you don’t want to drive there is plenty to do at the property, including walks, BBQ, nature watching and star gazing at night. Here’s to the next trip.
