Had a lovely 4 night break in early September. The Granary is a lovely cottage for 2 adults. Ideal for a quiet relaxing break. Everything we could have wanted or needed was there and the accommodation was great. Our hosts were lovely, they could not have been any more helpful, so thanks to both Chris and Anna for such a warm welcome to your holiday home. Highly recommended for a quiet and relaxing time coupled with the ability for some stargazing from the private outdoor patio and hot tub …..

Fantastic accommodation and hosts (Chris and Anna) with a very comfortable bed, well equipped and super peaceful. Could not fault. Don’t want to praise too highly as we might never be able to book again. Not far from some wonderful attractions, Clovelly, Appledore, Hartland Quay and The Tarka Trail. The shop in Woolfardisworthy is the best I have ever been in.

Lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings. We have enjoyed exploring this stunning part of the coutry. The weather has been remarkably kind.

We had a fab long weekend at the Granary, everything was provided and more ! Chris and Anna made us very welcome from the start . The Granary was beautiful inside and the addition of the most comfortable bed ever and robes for the hot tub made it feel even more luxurious. ! Lovely peaceful countryside location but near enough to the beautiful North Devon coast. Would definitely return..

We chose Eckworthy as a few days relaxing before heading down to Cornwall. It did not disappoint. Beautiful accommodation, absolutely everything we needed & more. Visit to Clovelly was a lovely day out, hot tub on an evening bliss. Fab stay, thanks x

Just stayed 3 nights at The Granary, what a wonderful break. It was so comfortable and clean, every little detail thought of. The grounds are beautiful and lovely to walk around. Hot tub was spot on and will be back again. Chris and Anna were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend this place to stay. We can see that you work hard on making sure that all the all of the details are covered, from the quality of the accommodation, the comfort of the beds and appliances, the maintenance of the property / gardens / hot tub and of course your hospitality. We needed a break away from our busy lives and that is exactly what we had, so thank you.

Had a week in The Granary. What a fabulous cottage. Only 15 mins from everywhere but so quiet you’d think there was nobody else around. Nice treats on arrival and Chris and Anna made us feel very welcome. Cottage like a show home and had everything you need, well stocked kitchen and nice touches with robes and towels for the hot tub. Patio and hot tub area tucked away, was such a sun trap and very private. Great for dark skies – spent a number of evenings watching the sunset and the stars. Plenty of room for 2 and the dressing room was a bonus.

After a week on holiday we decided to spend a few extra days in Devon before the long drive back to the northeast. We stayed at the Granary which is one of the cottages available at Great Eckworthy Holiday Cottages near Buckland Brewer. We found the very well appointed cottage down the traditional high hedged Devonshire roads and drove into complete peace and quiet. The Granary is set on 2 floors with a large hot tub on the private patio immediately outside the door. You ascend a few outdoor steps to the entrance door and into the top floor which has the kitchen and the lounge area. Downstairs from there is the toilet and shower as well as the bedroom and dressing room. You may not describe the Granary as spacious but it is a really good size for 2 occupants. Everything throughout the Granary is good quality and finished off to a very high standard as well as being spotlessly clean. Everywhere has been tastefully decorated and furnished with lots of attention to detail. The hosts, Anna and Chris, are obviously very proud of their beautiful cottages that they’ve created. They were a lovely couple who made us feel very welcome and were happy to help with any information about the surrounding area (Anna’s father is also happy to help with any information if you happen to bump into him). We will definitely return now that we have found this little gem hidden away in the Devonshire countryside and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

We had the most wonderful stay at Great Eckworthy in Devon. The setting is absolutely idyllic – peaceful, scenic, and a perfect spot to truly unwind. The property itself is immaculate, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully equipped with everything you could possibly need. What really makes it special are the hosts, Chris and Anna. They are so warm and welcoming, and couldn’t be more helpful – they clearly care about making sure every guest has the best experience. It’s also the perfect place if you’re travelling with a pooch. Our dog absolutely loved the open space, countryside walks, and the relaxed, dog-friendly atmosphere – it made the stay even more enjoyable for us as a family. We honestly can’t wait to come back again next year. A real gem in Devon!

Lovely cosy and well-equipped cottage with the benefit of the hot tub after long walks. Ideal for couples who want to get away from it all and enjoy the peace and beautiful surroundings. Chris and Anna couldn’t do enough for us.

Such a beautiful peaceful place. The Barn was spotless, comfortable and cosy. Had best sleep ever in what seemed to be the biggest bed ever. Anna and Chris were wonderful hosts; instantly made you feel relaxed. Plenty to do, fab beaches, places to eat. Sandymouth Beach is a must beautiful blue sea and endless beach. Or simply relax in your hot tub taking in the views. Felt very rested after my stay at Great Eckworthy and the reason why I shall be returning, A Home from Home highly recommended.

Just completed our 7th stay here. This visit I’ve been using it as a training base for some serious running. And it’s amazing – at the end of each day the hot tubs are a perfect relax, the runs are on lanes so quiet that on one 75 minute session I suffered just 3 passing vehicles some deer and horses. Another highlight was, by following the tide times, a 12k run barefooted along the golden sands from Sandymouth to Bude and back. Incredible. Highly recommend staying at Great Eckworthy!

We had a wonderful stay at Great Eckworthy Anna was fabulous and met our every need- an excellent host. The Cottage was beautiful, incredibly clean and well kitted out. I had some baking to do for our son’s wedding and the high-quality appliances made this easy to achieve. Great field for our dog to safely run around in and the hot tub was a welcome treat at the end of a busy day. We will definitely return and would recommend without reservation

What a wonderful stay we had in ‘The Cottage’. Chris and Anna welcomed us on arrival and provided some milk for a much needed cup of tea after a 5hr drive so kind of them. They checked if we needed anything which was lovely. The cottage is the most well equipped accommodation I have stayed in with a feel of luxury from the bath tub to the bed linen. I love the fact that they are trying to do all they can for the environment. Amazingly clean and well looked after. We enjoyed every moment of our stay in this idyllic peaceful setting.

On arrival we had a lovely warm welcome as we were shown to The Granary. First impressions inside and out are it is as special as the website portrays it. Spotlessly clean and containing everything you need and some things you didn’t know you needed until you’re presented with them. Peaceful, quiet and secluded with owners that are there if you need them ( we didn’t) but invisible if you don’t. We were really lucky with the weather and the hot tub is a pleasant way to end the day. Thank you we had a great time with you.

The Granary is an exceptional property in a small development of 2 other holiday lets. Each property offers complete privacy with a patio & hot tub. Inside, nothing has been omitted. Excellent fully kitted out kitchen, dishwasher & washing machine. The dressing room downstairs is a bonus too. Lovely destinations are within easy reach – check out the guide book for lots of great recommendations. A truly wonderful place.

A peaceful retreat in the heart of the countryside – absolute perfection! We recently stayed at The Barn at Great Eckworthy and it truly exceeded all expectations. The property is beautifully designed, offering the perfect blend of rustic charm and contemporary comfort. The kitchen was immaculately clean and well-equipped, ideal for self-catering – and the attention to detail throughout the barn was outstanding. One of the standout features for us was the jacuzzi, which was a real treat after long countryside walks. It added that extra touch of luxury and made the evenings feel incredibly relaxing under the stars. Set in the tranquil North Devon countryside, the location is absolutely idyllic. Just a short drive from the lovely village of Buckland Brewer and within easy reach of the coast, it’s the perfect base for exploring the area – or simply switching off and soaking up the peaceful surroundings. We loved every minute of our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a luxurious, serene break in a beautiful rural retreat.
